Introduction

This contest is formulated to seek teams' attention towards the scope of business plan event of the design competition. Our approach has always been state-of-the-art in employing the things to our design competitions. In last few seasons we eliminated scores from business plan event to understand and record several parameters. After deep study of outputs, we again assigned points to business plan event in the ongoing season of GKDC with an immaculate approach of conducting the business plan event independently with same rules and regulations.

We want you to understand the intensity of the scope that results from the business plan event. We feel proud in mentioning here that most of the top finalists of the business plans events are running successful businesses after graduating. One wouldn’t deny the fact that all the hard work that you put in converting the ideas into businesses for the use of business plan event, doesn’t go futile. It backs you one way or the other.

Objectives

  • The objective of the BPP is to evaluate the team's ability to develop and deliver a comprehensive business model which demonstrates their product – a prototype race car – could become a rewarding business opportunity.
  • The judges should be treated as if they were potential investors or partners for the presented business model.
  • The business plan must relate to the specific prototype race car entered in the competition. The quality of the actual prototype will not be considered as part of the BPP judging

Who can Participate?

The competition is exclusively open for-

  • Teams registered for 8th GKDC with confirmed payment status [full or partial].

Procedure

1- Business Plan Presentation Procedure

    • Presentations are limited to a maximum of Twelve minutes. The judges will stop any presentation exceeding Twelve minutes.
    • The presentation will not be interrupted by questions. Immediately following the presentation there will be a question and answer session.
    • One or more team members may present the business plan.
    • The competition will be conducted on our online meeting platform GOTOMEETING. Individual meeting sessions will be allotted to all the teams wherein all the members involved can join for the competition from their places. [Enough and sufficient demonstration of the portal will be provided to all the teams well before the deadline]
    • All team members involved in the BPP must be in the podium area and must be introduced to the judges at the beginning of the presentation. The team members who have been introduced may answer the judges’ questions even if they were not actually presenting.
    • All the recorded sessions of the competition can be reproduced in full compliance to the Public Report Section of the 8th GKDC Rulebook.
    • Teams that fail to make their presentation within their assigned time period will receive zero points for the BPP.
    • One week prior to the competition a specific deep dive topic, which has to be part of the twelve-minute presentation, will be published on the competition website.

2- Executive Summary

    • To convince the potential investors or partners that the team’s presentation is worthy of their time, it is required that an executive summary is submitted before the competition. The executive summary should contain a brief description of the team's business plan.
    • The executive summary must not exceed one page. The vehicle number and university (or college) name must be written in the top right corner.
    • The executive summary must be submitted online via the competition website, not later than the deadline specified in the competition handbook.
    • If the executive summary is not compliant with the rules, 5 penalty points are deducted from the final BPP score.

3- Business Plan Presentation Scoring

The BPP will be evaluated on the categories specified in the following table:

    • The judging at the competition will start with an initial judging, where all teams are judged by different judging groups. The top three to five teams are then judged by all business judges in the BPP finals.
    • The scoring of the BPP is based on the average of the scores given by each of the judges.
    • The scoring for the non-finalist is calculated as followed:

BPP Score = 50 X (Pteam / Pmax)

Where-
Pteam is the score awarded to the team.
Pmax is the highest score awarded to any team not participating in the finals

First Runner-up- 50% Concession on SIP/WIP/Webinar [5 Members of the Winner Team]

Second Runner-up- 30% Concession on SIP/WIP/Webinar [5 Members of the Winner Team]

Top 10 teams will be shortlisted for Finale of ISNEE's Entrepreneurial Bootcamp. ISNEE is looking to start something [that is very much confidential at the moment] in association with its participants.
