Event Summary
Go-Kart Design Challenge 2026
The 13th GKDC was successfully conducted by ISNEE Motorsports at Kari Motor Speedway in Coimbatore from February 20–24, 2026. The event once again brought together innovation, engineering excellence, and the spirit of motorsports, providing students from across the country with a competitive platform to showcase their technical capabilities.
The competition witnessed enthusiastic participation from engineering institutions nationwide. A total of 97 teams registered for the event across both combustion vehicle (CV) and electric vehicle (EV) categories. Out of these, 65 teams reported onsite after going through a series of tests at college level, reflecting the strong passion and commitment of student teams toward practical engineering and motorsports design.
The event began with structured evaluations, including Design Evaluation and Technical Inspection (TI), where vehicles were examined for compliance with safety and technical standards. After rigorous scrutiny, 49 teams successfully cleared the Technical Inspection, demonstrating sound engineering practices and careful adherence to the competition guidelines.
Following the technical clearance, teams proceeded to the Brake Test, an essential safety evaluation that verifies the vehicle’s braking efficiency and reliability. A total of 44 teams passed the Brake Test, qualifying them for the most demanding stage of the competition: the Endurance Round.
The Endurance Round is considered the ultimate test of performance, durability, and driver skill. All 44 qualified teams competed in this challenging stage, where their vehicles were tested under real track conditions. The endurance race required teams to demonstrate not only mechanical reliability but also strategic driving and consistent performance throughout the run.
After an intense and competitive series of runs, the results highlighted exceptional engineering and teamwork.
- Combustion Vehicle (CV) Category Winner: Vayujit Racing 8.0
- Electric Vehicle (EV) Category Winner: Team DJS Karting India
The 13th GKDC successfully reinforced its role as a platform that encourages innovation, technical learning, and hands-on engineering experience. Participants demonstrated remarkable dedication in vehicle design, fabrication, and testing, while also enhancing their teamwork and problem-solving abilities throughout the event. With strong participation and impressive technical improvements from teams, the event concluded on a highly successful note. ISNEE Motorsports remains committed to nurturing young engineers and providing them with opportunities to apply their knowledge in real-world engineering challenges.
